MASTER PLANNING & URBAN DESIGN

A great number of projects start with the establishment of a Master Plan, where conceptual standards are reviewed, but not yet tested in a final built example.  In developing designs for future buildings, we look at the defining elements that convey the quality and reinforce the sense of place defined through the master plan.  Developing a pattern language of materials and details that provided a common thread among all facilities.  As well as site elements and landscaping that support the owner’s vision.

We are referred to as the “Urban” firm by many of our “design” colleagues and students because of our understanding of complex urban issues and because of our participation in urban affairs in the region we live in.
